Keiko is a 12-year old female Schipperke (originally a rescue). She feels ill and, after two days in the hospital, is doing well. However, Keiko is in chronic kidney failure and requires medication, special diet, and sub-cutaneous fluids.
SRN spoke with her veterinarian and was told that Keiko is currently strong and has full quality of life.
Her owner, however has fallen on difficult times and is currently disabled, so unable to fully support Keiko's needs.
03-21-2012: SRN is assisting as much as possible and has paid for the next week's food, fluids, and a portion of the diagnostic hospital stay.
